How does keeping someone small empower you? Are you afraid if they do not “need” you, they may leave you? How do you manipulate or are manipulated by allowing another to control your self esteem? We say we want to heal and want others to heal, to help themselves, but what is the runny story of disempowerment in your family? The judgements we make are like dark spells we cast on one another. When we need approval from certain people they hold a power over us. Have you ever said “I feel like they have a hold over me”? Become conscious of who and where you are are giving your power away. How are you unconsciously making someone else’s dreams and desires seem insignificant in hopes they do not flourish? Out of fear they may know something you do not, out of the fear they may make it and no longer depend on you.
If you are a person that is consciously manipulating others to control, knowingly taking another’s power away by belittling, chipping away at their self esteem until they are like a fragile child that feels they are never worthy of anything other than the struggle life throws at them. We make choices that have consequences, some call it Karma but having to live with yourself, looking at yourself in the mirror is punishment in its self. I’ve seen how it eats at a person’s soul, how it affects both the giver and the taker (receiver). It’s not pretty, it’s a shadow of horrific proportions.
Break the spell of codependency by becoming aware, by becoming conscious. Where in your life have you felt blocked and have tried everything, what is getting in the way? Where did this cycle and pattern of sabotage begin? Go back, look at your relationships, most times people are not doing this with awareness and mean no ill intent. This could be a contract made prior to coming into the physical, an area where you can learn and grow. And as you learn, heal and empower yourself these contracts can be broken. So you no longer need outside approval. The approval you are searching for can always be found within YOU! Self love, acceptance and approval is so empowering and once you have it, no one can take your power away again!
